Attacks: Kwara Governor Meets Tinubu, Visits Kaiama

AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, Governor of Kwara State, on Thursday, held a meeting with President Bola Tinubu over the recent attacks in the state.

Tens of people were killed following a recent attack on Woro community in Kaiama Local Government Area of the state.

AbdulRazaq, Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), met with the President at the Aso Villa.

Prior to the meeting, the Governor had visited the affected community.

According to a statement issued by Akeweje Fafoluyi,
Senior Special Assistant on New Media to the Governor, the meeting was held to discuss security strategies to forestall further incidents.

“Speaking to State House correspondents after the meeting, Governor AbdulRazaq thanked Mr. President for his swift establishment of Operation Savannah Shield in the affected area and added that the deployment of troops would restore peace to the region,” the statement read.

“Before meeting with President Tinubu, the governor had visited Kaiama and was accompanied by security commanders and key members of his cabinet.”
