Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, has dissolved the State Executive Council.
The decision was announced in a statement by Onwuka Nzeshi, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, on Thursday.
Fubara directed “all Commissioners and Special Advisers to hand over to the Permanent Secretaries or the most Senior officers in their Ministries with immediate effect.”
“His Excellency further expresses his deepest appreciation to the outgoing members of the Executive Council wishing them the best in their future endeavours,” the statement added.
The disssolution of the cabinet comes days after the Rivers Governor held a meeting with President Bola Tinubu amid the political crisis in the state.
Also reportedly present at the meeting were major political leaders in the state, including Nyesom Wike, former Rivers Governor and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
